Świnoujście - Town of 44 Islands

Świnoujście is the only town in Poland that can boast such a unique location. It is spread over 44 islands (hence the name "Town of 44 Islands") surrounded by the waters of the Baltic Sea, Szczecin Lagoon and the Świna River estuary. The unique location is by far the most significant asset of this beach and spa resort on the Baltic Sea, which for years has been very popular among holiday makers, as it provides superb conditions for different forms of tourism.
Being located in the border zone undeniably adds to the attractiveness of Świnoujście. When you are in Świnoujście, the German part of the Uznam (Usedom) island is right behind the corner. Since 2008 you can get from Świnoujście town centre to the German part of the Uznam island by railway. There is also bus service available, which operates between the Polish and German parts of the area. An additional asset are ferry connections with Scandinavia (Ystad, Bornholm, Copenhagen). There are two airports nearby: Goleniów in Poland (ca. 60 km from Świnoujście) and Heringsdorf (Germany) - 12 km from the town.

• Islands of Culture - numerous cultural events, including the annual „Dni Morza" sea festival, University Students' Arts Festival, Karuzela Cooltury, Sail Świnoujście & International Sea Song Floating Festival "Wiatrak", organ concerts, the Folklore and Folk Arts Festival „Lato nad Świną", the Polish-German Uznam Music Festival, and jazz concerts;
• Islands of Health and Beauty - natural deposits of therapeutic mud and brine, modern facilities, qualified staff as well as the wider and wider range of hotels and holiday centres offering superb wellness and spa treatment packages, using state-of-the-art equipment and top brand cosmetics;
• Fortress on the Islands - three exceptional forts dating back to the 19th century: the Angel's Fort, Gerhard's Fort and Western Fort, as well as a tourist hiking trail - "The Fortification Trail" which covers the most interesting specimens of the military architecture on the eastern side of the Świna River estuary.

In Świnoujście there is no place for boredom. One visit is not enough to get to know the whole place, but it is enough to fall in love with it and want to see it over and over again.
